A third and a fourth place, this is the result of Friday's free practice in Canada for Charles Leclerc, fresh from victory in Monaco just two weeks ago. A result which, however, is not at all indicative given the conditions in which the two sessions took place. In fact, the rain interrupted activity on the track several times, also generating a lot of confusion. With the return of the rain in the FP2, Ferrari decided to fit intermediate tires on Leclerc's car. However, the session had not yet been declared wet by the FIA so Charles ended up under investigation which ended with a 5 euro fine for the team.
Leclerc: “Little data to be able to analyze but there is trust”
Ferrari in Canada knows it can have another chance for victory. After the success in Monaco and the constant growth we arrive at another track that can enhance the SF-24 and the two pilots. To do this, however, we will need to find the right interpretation of a very simple weekend, conditioned by variable weather and lower temperatures. Factors that could complicate Ferrari's situation. Red Bull and McLaren have shown in the past that they are comfortable in these conditions, which is why the number 16 of Charles Leclerc tried to lap on the track as much as possible in the first two free practice sessions, even with the rain and with the medium compound.

Although Ferrari, like all the other teams, managed to obtain little data to analyze given the adverse conditions Charles Leclerc says he is confident for the rest of the weekend. Especially for qualifying, the biggest question mark for Ferrari which this season has only managed to take Pole once in Monaco.
“Today on the track there wasn't much to take home in terms of elements to analyze given that the Asphalt conditions were very different every time we left the pits. We completed a decent number of laps, which is good, then I look forward to tomorrow with confidence when we will have to know how to put everything in place to obtain a good result in qualifying."
