Charles Leclerc comes from a positive weekend in Austria. The Monegasque found the podium again after a smooth race, also avoiding getting into trouble due to the track limits, as happened to his partner.
One of the issues that divided the fans concerned the first laps of the Austrian Grand Prix and the failure swipe between Sainz and Leclerc when the Spaniard underlined that he was faster than his teammate. But if the question of not reversing positions for Vasseur and Leclerc was resolved almost immediately, this was not the case for Sainz, who complained of irresponsible behavior on the part of the team, not oriented towards maximizing the team result.
Looking forward to more updates
The process of making the Ferrari SF-23 more consistent is not yet finished and these last races before the summer break will be decisive. Also to Silverstone – an extremely technical track that will test the SF-23 with its fast corners – Ferrari will bring others updates. Understanding how much the SF-23 has improved compared to the one seen at the beginning of the season is still a difficult exercise but Silverstone will provide a rather important answer on this issue. While waiting to see how the two Ferraris will behave on the track, let's see what the sensations and expectations of one of the most anticipated drivers, Charles Leclerc, are.

Leclerc confirmation, the SF-23 performs better
Compared to the beginning of the season, Ferrari seems to have made great steps forward. In Austria Leclerc finally found the right feeling with the car, already with just one free practice session. However, Red Bull is still far away. And at Silverstone the fight with Aston Martin and Mercedes could be tougher for Ferrari which will have to demonstrate that it has resolved the problems of the SF-23. “In Austria we had a great feeling and the pace was much better than what we had in the first part of the season – says Leclerc in the press conference. “This is good because It shows that we have made progress, but we must not get carried away by enthusiasm. Red Bull is still well ahead. AND I believe that this track will test our weaknesses this weekend, and therefore it is probable that we may suffer a little more than in Austria.”
Pirelli tires are an unknown
Silverstone will score for Pirelli the debut of a new dry tire construction, with a reinforced construction to meet the new needs of single-seaters and the load to which the tires are subjected. Silverstone features some of the fastest sections on the calendar, and poses difficulties both in terms of tire management and driver handling. Charles Leclerc is not very convinced about the introduction of these specifications and the possibility that a team like Ferrari which suffers particularly from degradation will benefit from it. "I think that during free practice it will be very important to evaluate this aspect and understand how much difference it will make in terms of degradation, if there would be a need to adapt the car to these new constructions. We have yet to try them, we don't know if it will be a benefit. It could also be another weak point.”
