A different strategy the one tried with Charles Leclerc which however did not lead to anything as important as hoped. It would be due in coverage on a Russell who had mounted the bitchy, discarded by everyone. But upon exiting the pits, Leclerc finds himself with the white one and George with the yellow one, and the Mercedes strips paint la Ferrari.
Leclerc speechless: "There was little that could be done"
Conclude your own race in ninth position it was certainly not the Ferrari driver's expectation. The ambitions were different, that is to fight with one McLaren which it seemed far superior to the Red. He wanted to look for a podium position, which then got further and further away.
To the microphones of Sky Sports, Charles couldn't find the words to describe the ordeal he just went through. He then tries to look for something that can explain all this suffering. That something is the fast curves, as had already been announced before the weekend in Great Britain. This is the real weakness of SF-23, with even a touch of classic bad luck in between Safety car and toy trains DRS: “The first stint there was no degradation but no pace either. We stopped early to strategize on Russell and unlucky on the safety. Then it was impossible to overtake, Albon had the DRS. The main problem was the pace, we struggled in the fast corners and in traction, we paid a lot there. I have no doubts about the choice of the red tire, it was the right choice. We had a new average, but it wasn't the tyre: there was the DRS train and there was little that could be done".
