At Ferrari there are problems with the SF-23 number 16 during the FP2 at Silverstone, they set off a pretty big bell on the reliability front. Charles Leclerc, fresh from an excellent second place in Austria, was unable to complete even one lap in the second free practice session due to electrical problems. The team tried to put the Monegasque on the track, but the problem took too long and this may not be the only insult to Leclerc.
There is in fact an important number that weighs on the fate of the Monegasque is that of the batteries used during the season. Leclerc has already used three, compared to the two allowed by the regulation. However, the first two are not recoverable while the third is the one that risks having to change. If the latter is also not recoverable, the Monegasque will have to serve other penalty positions. In short, a bad twist of fate, which takes its toll on the Monegasque's fate just when he seemed to have found a bit of serenity.

Leclerc: “I will do my best to recover”
The team was unable to complete testing of the new beam wing which debuted in FP1 on Carlos Sainz's car. The Spaniard immediately fitted the new specification, while Charles would have had to do so in the next round. The serious problem that forced Leclerc into the garage therefore took away some precious data from the team, as well as an important test for the pilot himself who will only have the FP3 available to test the SF-23 with the new specification. Furthermore, tomorrow at Silverstone - a track which, unlike Austria, should cause difficulties for the SF-23 - is scheduled pioggia. A truly complicated situation. Despite this, the Monegasque's mood remains high. Tomorrow's goal is to maximize qualifying results.
"The sensations in the car with little fuel were good, while we still have some work to do to improve our race pace“, these are the words of Leclerc published by Ferrari.
"We hope to make some progress tomorrow although the weather conditions could be very different to today and there could be rain. Unfortunately I wasn't able to ride in the second session and this prevented me from working ahead of Sunday“, continued the Monegasque driver. “Tomorrow, weather permitting, we will do the best with the time we have to prepare for both the race and qualifying".
