The starting grid of the Hungarian Grand Prix opens with something new, which concerns the poleman. There is not, as we have been accustomed to during this season, Max Verstappen, but rather Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion, in qualification yesterday, he managed to achieve a wonderful pole – rising to 104. It will certainly not be easy for the Englishman to protect himself from Max's attack Verstappen, who will start next to him. After the 2021 vintage, the two world champions return to occupy a front row, already making clear the great spectacle that will take place at the start, in which the unknown could be Lando Norris.

The pilot of the McLaren will in fact start in third position which, considering the fourth place in Piastri, further certifies the great recovery achieved by the Woking team. Norris however, barring any surprises, will start with a new average and who knows, this might just be the wild card to take advantage of when the traffic lights go out.
Leclerc in sixth place, but watch out for the two Alfas
In fifth position is an extraordinary Alfa Romeo driven by Guanyu Zhou. The Chinese is undoubtedly one of the MVPs of yesterday, in which he even positioned himself ahead of his teammate Bottas – which will snap in seventh position. The Biscione team's hope is to confirm the excellent race pace seen on Friday free practice, with the aim of finally returning to the points. Between the two Alfa drivers, there is the Ferrari by Leclerc. The Monegasque will certainly aim for the podium but, at least until Saturday, the SF-23 seemed to have much less of it than its rivals, even if the race pace could prove to be a pleasant surprise. Eighth place instead for a disappointing Alonso, followed by Perez's Red Bull – in enormous difficulty – and by Haas of Hulkenberg which closes the top ten.

Will Ricciardo try?
Eleventh position instead for Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard never got to grips with the car and yesterday's qualifying was just the demonstration of an almost forgettable start to the weekend. The hope is that redemption can come in today's race which, however, considering the few overtaking possibilities in Hungary, doesn't seem very simple. Behind him Ocon's Alpine followed by Ricciardo's AlphaTauri. The Australian will certainly try the feat, trying to grab the points zone - which however seems to be very difficult - to close his campaign in the best possible way return on the official grid. Next to him is Lance's Aston Martin Stroll.
Russell called for a comeback
At the bottom of the grill in Fifteenth position is Pierre Gasly, who will have Alexander at his side Albon. After Austria and Silverstone, the Thai disappointed expectations a bit by not even passing Q1. Behind him Yuki tsunoda with surprise George Russell only eighteenth. The traffic and also the difficulty in getting the hard tire up to temperature in Q1 were fatal to the Englishman who will be called to the great challenge. Back row for Haas's Magnussen and Sargeant's Williams.
At 15.00 the traffic lights go out
Everything is ready on the starting grid for the Hungarian GP which will start at 15.00 pm. Hamilton against Verstappen, who will prevail?
