The penalty situation in Miami has in fact gotten out of hand for Kevin Magnussen who risks having to leave the Haas exposed for a Grand Prix. Magnussen has in fact reached the limit of points on his super licence. He only has two left, of the 12 supplied, after which he will be disqualified for a Grand Prix.
Kevin Magnussen risks missing a Grand Prix
The Haas driver had a weekend to forget in Miami, receiving four penalties during the Sprint race for his aggressive defense on Lewis Hamilton. At the end of the Sprint, Magnussen admitted that he had also done so to protect the points placing of his teammate, Nico Hulkenberg. A sacrifice that was not appreciated by the rest of the grid, who sided against Magnussen. But the Dane didn't stop there.

Two more arrived in the race penalty. The first for causing a collision with Logan Sargeant, in a battle well outside the points zone. Unfortunately, following the collision, Sargeant ended up against the wall and had to retire. The stewards considered Magnussen entirely responsible for the accident and for this reason, in addition to the 10 second penalty, the Dane was deducted two penalty points. The second penalty came post-race as Magnussen had not served the first penalty as he should have. In fact, the Dane had returned to the pits under the Safety Car, without changing his tyres. Kevin was then given a drive-through penalty which was converted into a 20-second post-race penalty which dropped Magnussen from 18th to 19th place in the final standings.
Kevin's points situation is quite complicated and he seriously risks missing a GP. Magnussen has in fact accumulated 10 penalty points. Another two penalty points will trigger automatic suspension at the following Grand Prix. What worries Haas is that Kevin has accumulated 10 penalty points in just 6 races. And with 18 races still to go, it's hard to believe he won't get more.
