Lewis Hamilton takes home a great third place in the Spanish GP
The Spanish GP weekend had opened for Lewis Hamilton , Mercedes with that anonymous email that accused the Brackley team of having boycotted number 44 in previous grands prix. A controversy that certainly did not affect the nerves of the English driver, who went on to take a well-deserved third position. The result obtained by Hamilton thus consolidated what had been seen in Canada, with a Mercedes which, after a long time spent as fourth force, is recovering ground compared to their opponents. This is also why Lewis Hamilton was said to be true soddisfatto to the microphones after the Spanish GP.

"It was a good day and a solid weekend for us. I have to thank the team because they trained a lot in the pit stops and then we opted for a great strategy. But like Lando, I also got off to a bad start. It was hard to get back to the position I started in. If we had started better, I don't know if we would have been able to keep the pace of those in front, but maybe we wouldn't have finished the race so far behind."
Lewis Hamilton also focused on the strategy that led him to the podium and the hard overtaking he inflicted on Carlos Sainz after the first pit stop:
“It's always been the plan from the beginning. I had chosen for the race soft-medium-soft. The duel with Sainz? Many overtakings were close. We reached the limit a bit and clashed with the tyres, but everything was clean. Not even a single piece of paper passed between us."
