On November 25th Formula 1 has announced of having finally reached an agreement to support theinput – in the most prestigious Circus – of theeleventh team. To date TWG Global and General Motorsport they have chosen who will fill the role of main team of the new Cadillac Project: It is Graeme Lowdon.
Graeme Lowdon to take on the role of team principal for the GM/Cadillac project
Lowdon was charged with supervising the Cadillac program before his actual entry into the grid in 2026. The British driver's last year of activity on the pit wall dates back to 2015, season in which Graeme was Sporting Director of the Manor Marussia team. He also brought the Manor name into the WEC world and most recently played a key role in management of the first Chinese driver in F1, Zhou Guangyu.
Lowdon a new era begins: will take on the role of team principal and will be called to Laying the Foundation for the Cadillac Project. "I am honored to have been named team principal of this new team. I would like to thank everyone who has placed their trust in me.,” said the Englishman. “I believe that Formula 1 is the best team sport in the world and teams are built on people. This is a team with great love – and great desire – to run, we have the right experience and expertise to do it".
Lowdon continued: “Racing is at the heart of everything we do. This is what I want to see in a team and I really want to be a part of it. I don't underestimate the obstacles that we will meet and I have the utmost respect for the competition. I look forward to future challenges on the track, but in the meantime our work continues".
