In Austin the United States GP Host the weekend sprint. 19 laps of pure fun on a rainy evening in mid-October. The autumn break seems to have done the drivers good, who are back on the track more charged than ever. Max Verstappen, after the accusations against Red Bull at the beginning of the weekend, wins the Sprint Race without making a noise, followed by a magical Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris.
Sprint Race: 19 laps of pure fun, F1 races like in a western movie
La United States GP Sprint Race It consists of 19 laps and 104 km of track space. The single-seaters opt for medium tyres used in previous sessions, saving the sets for the GP qualifying and tomorrow's race.
Lando's good start Norris nullifies the one made by Charles Leclerc, preventing the Monegasque from overtaking. Like a butterfly effect, a brawl begins at Ferrari. Both drivers in red fight for the fourth position for several laps. The Reds, thus, are blocked in a Wild West duel without being able to demonstrate the real potential of the car. At least until halfway through the race, when Sainz then takes control of the situation.
In the final laps George's car Russell gives in, allowing the two Ferrari to take advantage. Sainz he is in the podium zone while his teammate tries to catch up with him. What a race the Madrid native has, managing to overtake Norris on the last lap and finishing second behind Max.
In front, Max Verstappen returns to his usual consistency that, perhaps, we had become unaccustomed to during the last races. He does not allow Norris to reach him and take the leadership of the Sprint Race which he gives up at the end. In the meantime, in the house of the bulls, tsunoda he tries at all costs to make it clear that he deserves the place next to Max, with a beautiful brawl with the Mexican from Red Bull.
Oscar Piastres, in the rear, takes 5” penalty for overtaking Pierre Gasly and driving him off the track.
Max wins the sprint, followed by Sainz and Norris. For Leclerc bitter mouth, can't keep up with his partner.
F1 returns at 00:00 with qualifying for tomorrow's official race.
