Today, Thursday 4 July, begins the weekend which will feature the Silverstone GP, in England. The event on the historic British circuit is perhaps one of the most anticipated of the season. As we know, the actual race week begins on Thursday with the press conference, when drivers and team managers meet with the media, revealing their expectations for the weekend and commenting, as has already happened, on the hot topics of the Circus. One of these concerns Lando Norris, and at Silverstone he wanted to think again about the contact with Max Verstappen in Austria.
Lando Norris on the Silverstone GP, his expectations
Lando Norris, fresh from the stormy meeting with rival Max Verstappen which saw them finish the match early Austrian GP, responded to various questions posed by journalists. Obviously, there was no shortage of responses to what happened last weekend, also commenting on a McLaren that managed to return to the top of the standings, thanks to all the efforts of its drivers and entire team.
The English driver number 4 said: «We want to fight hard and we both know it, but we absolutely don't want things to end up the way they ended [in Austria]. We want to make sure we avoid this in the future."
«Will we get over what happened? I think so, because of the respect we still have. I won't let something like this suddenly blow everything up. – the pilot then continued – My adrenaline side certainly prevails in some comments. I don't think everything I said was correct. But I was fighting for my second victory. For Max it is the sixtieth. So the meaning it has for me is very different from what it has for him. I spoke to Max and I don't think he needs to apologize. The things I said to the media were also dictated by the adrenaline I had in my body."
Lando Norris is certainly aiming for victory, as he has always done in the current season, but he will try not to duel so hard with his opponents, defending his second position in the championship hard.
