After having savored the story again during the weekend of the highly anticipated GP of Imola, the teams are quickly moving to Munich. Another iconic, historic circuit, ready to put on a show with its specialty, namely qualifying. So let's see the times for the Monaco GP weekend, live on Sky and NOW.
Monaco ready to put on a show with qualifying
We have already seen in Imola how important it was at this stage to place ahead of the competition, given the very small gaps on the edge of a thousandth. Verstappen, Piastri and Norris ended qualifying with a gap of just 91 thousandths. Ferrari, despite the updates, was unable to turn on and this compromised any chance of victory. The Maranello team still managed to get on the podium in Imola, in front of its warm audience with Charles Leclerc, who took advantage of the Piastri penalty to keep close to Lando Norris and Max Verstappen.
Even in the race the gap was surprisingly low. The top three finished just 7 seconds behind, with Norris closing in on Verstappen in the closing stages of the Grand Prix. In Monaco, qualifying will be even more important. Pole will reward those who dare to get closest to the limit or the walls of the Principality, as happened to Verstappen last year. This obviously increases the risk of an accident, but also highlights the extraordinary skills of the pilots.
McLaren wants to take that Pole that was missed at Imola by just a few thousandths. Red Bull knows that to win it they will have to work magic, as does Ferrari who wants to resume good old habits, dreaming of a Pole that has been missing since the 2023 Las Vegas GP.
