The Monaco Grand Prix always reserves great surprises and this time it was Ferrari's turn to celebrate. On the third try Charles Leclerc he converted the Pole Position into one victory, but Carlos Sainz was also no exception, third after a very solid weekend, and a solid race that started with some difficulties following a contact between the Spaniard and Piastri. Let's see Carlos Sainz's words at the end of the Monaco GP. The last of the Spaniard, with the red tracksuit and the Cavallino emblem on the chest.
GP Monaco Sainz: “I didn't find the moment to overtake Piastri”
Ferrari didn't finish a one-two but the fruits of their labor are coming out. Over the last few weeks, positive responses have arrived, so much so as to give the two Red team drivers hope for a constructors' championship, if not even in the drivers' championship considering the gap of just 31 points that divides Leclerc from Verstappen. Sainz's race, like that of the other drivers, was conditioned by the forced strategy after the red flag at the start of the race. Compared to the others, however, Sainz had a further difficulty. His start was complicated, the contact with Piastri had given him a puncture. Without the red flag and the return of third position, his race would have been totally different. At the end Sainz also tried to get close to Piastri but preferred to keep third place safe, with Norris lurking.
At the end of the Monaco GP Carlos Sainz declared: “The start was at the limit, and immediately afterwards I had a bad feeling about the race. A sensation that however immediately changed and became beautiful after third position was returned to me. After that, the pace was very good. Towards the end of the race I wanted to put pressure on Oscar and cover me on Norris who perhaps would have made it to middle school, like this I pushed harder but in a couple of corners I was almost losing the rear e I didn't find the right opportunity to attempt an overtaking.”

Sainz: “I'm happy for Charles, he drove in an incredible way”
Everyone was there to celebrate Charles Leclerc's victory and Carlos Sainz's third place under the podium. The Spaniard wanted to reiterate the importance of the weekend for the team and for the teammate with whom he shared 4 seasons. The fight is open compared to last year, Red Bull seems to have some problems on certain tracks. And this opens the doors to teams like Ferrari and McLaren. On these occasions you shouldn't do anything wrong, which Ferrari did in Monaco.
“But I'm really happy to see Charles win his home race, he drove incredibly well and I'm happy to share the podium with him and the whole team, we really seem to be stronger every weekend.”
