The Sprint Race gave us just a taste of what the main race can offer. The Miami Grand Prix, which will start at 22pm Italian time, will see a highly anticipated challenge between Max Verstappen e Charles Leclerc. Max, as for every race held so far, will start from Pole Position. However, Ferrari is ready to give battle to the Dutchman by using second and third positions on the grid to put pressure on the world champion. Among the unknowns of the race are the track conditions, made complicated by the high temperatures in Florida and the new asphalt, while tire management will be fundamental for all teams on such a long race. Compared to the Sprint, several teams chose to change set-up, not happy with the performance in the first phase of the weekend. Let's see the starting grid of the Miami GP.
Red Bull versus Ferrari, who will come out on top?
Tire management and the heat made the qualifications particularly challenging. In the Ferrari garage there is a slight regret at having missed the pole position, but the solid performance in qualifying and in the Sprint has given confidence to the whole team. Verstappen took his second pole position in two days, but the advantage over Leclerc is minimal, less than two tenths of a second. The poor grip put all the cars to the test, with drivers forced to fight against overheating. Ferrari managed to get the tires to the right temperature, obtaining second and third positions on the grid. However, in Sprint qualifying, Leclerc suffered greater degradation than Verstappen. For the race, the team changed some settings to improve tire management and try the "two against one" strategy, taking advantage of the presence of Carlos Sainz.
Red Bull, on the other hand, started the weekend a bit in pain, but did not suffer the effects too much. In fact, despite the complaints, Max obtained Pole and victory in the Sprint race. In the race the Dutchman will have to defend himself from a double attack. Second and third place on the grid give Ferrari a base on which to build a good race. It will be important for Leclerc to take advantage of the DRS to keep close to Verstappen.

Two-faced McLaren, Aston misses the top 10
McLaren brought a substantial package of updates to Miami, especially on Lando Norris' car. After starting the weekend well, Lando then struggled to find an optimal set-up. In Sprint qualifying, after having been constantly ahead, Verstappen and the others Lando makes a mistake that relegates him to the rearmost positions. In the Sprint there was a heavy out, due to a contact at the start with Stroll's Aston Martin. Neither of the two "greenies" managed to enter the top 10. Alonso will even start from P15.
The starting grid of the Miami GP
Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren and then Mercedes are the first four forces we find on the starting grid. In the top 10 we also find Nico Hulkenberg – who consistently enters Q3, and Yuki Tsunoda. A grid that this time will see Daniel Ricciardo starting last, author of an amazing Sprint yesterday, finishing in fourth place. Daniel qualified 18th in qualifying for the Miami GP. A disappointing result, even more so because this must be added to the 3 penalty positions he "earned" in China two weeks ago. This is why he will start in P20.
