George Russell returns to first position in the qualifications of the Las Vegas GP. He is, in fact, the poleman of the qualifying session of the last American GP of the 2024 season. He takes the fourth pole of his career, behind him Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly. The British driver equals fisichella.
Mercedes screams, dominates free practice and qualifying
Although Mercedes has not been the best in the current season, in the Las Vegas GP it seems to have found that balance that brings the car to the top positions. In Q3 Lewis Hamilton, unlike his teammate, made some mistakes that did not allow him to excel like in the previous sessions, giving his colleague and compatriot an "easy" pole, without fighting for it at home.
Mercedes seems to be the only one, or the best, to be able to bring in temperature the tires in an excellent manner. Important point in view of tomorrow's race as he also declared Carlos Sainz.
George Russell, the words of the Las Vegas poleman
"We didn't think we had this pace, it's incredible to be this fast all weekend. Q3 was difficult but I knew it mattered more, on the first attempt we had to change the front wing and I didn't think I could get out in time before the flag."
"I knew that if I did a clean lap it would be enough for the front row, but I didn't expect pole. I made some changes but we have to convert it into a win."
"I'm really excited to race here in Las Vegas, there's an incredible atmosphere and I can't wait for the race tomorrow. I hope to win."
