Despite the hard-fought qualifying Max Verstappen he managed to bring home Pole in Imola, the seventh of the season and the eighth in a row. Impressive numbers but they come on another weekend where Red Bull didn't seem perfect. Max himself admitted that he took a risk, and the great unknown of the race still remains where opportunities could arise for McLaren and Ferrari. In the wake of what we saw in Miami two weeks ago. Let's see the starting grid for the Imola GP which will start at 15:00 pm.
What worries Red Bull above all is McLaren, who have already stolen the victory from Verstappen in Miami, demonstrating notable growth which has in fact opened up a very interesting three-way challenge. In qualifying it was the two Papaya single-seaters that placed at the top immediately after the Dutchman, who needed Hulkenberg's slipstream to keep Pole. Despite this, Max's lap was excellent, also considering his teammate's placing. In fact, Sergio Perez was unable to even get to Q3. It is therefore difficult to understand what the true nature of this RB20 is which continues to change its face on the track, also due to continuous updates.

Ferrari, on the other hand, must, for now, be content with being the third force in the field. The team brought the long-awaited update package scheduled at the start of the season to Imola in front of its fans. Despite the good results during free practice, Ferrari lost two tenths of a second to their opponents in qualifying. However, due to the penalty given to Piastri Leclerc and Sainz will start on the second row but it will be important not to let Norris and Verstappen escape, also considering that there is only one DRS zone in Imola. Moving up in positions won't be easy. But the team is hoping for race pace.
The starting grid of the Imola GP
Looking at the starting grid of the Imola GP we find Max Verstappen and Lando Norris in the front row, followed by the two Ferraris that make up an all-Red second row. Immediately behind the two Ferrari drivers we find Piastri, relegated 3 positions compared to the second place obtained in qualifying. The first Mercedes we find is that of George Russell in sixth position. After Miami the positive streak continues for Yuki Tsunoda who will start from P7, to try to bring a lot of points to the team that plays at home this weekend. The Japanese even managed to place ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Racing Bulls will also be able to count on Daniel Ricciardo, in P9. Nico Hulkenberg concludes the Top 10.
Out of the top 10 we sensationally find two prominent names. The first is that of Sergio Perez, the second is that of Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard had to argue with his Aston Martin all weekend, perhaps paying the consequences of the heavy accident during FP3. However, in the race he will not start from P19 but from Pit Lane after changing the suspension set up.
