No stopping or standing. After Dutch GP, in which so many - perhaps too many - unexpected events occurred between rain, wrong pits and more, Formula 1 continues its long season by stopping in Italy. We fly to Monza, last European stage of the calendar.
Italian GP: the spectacle has always been guaranteed
The appointment with the Temple of Speed is absolutely unmissable. History teaches us that everything has always happened in Monza: just think that from 2018 to today, there have always been different winners. In 2018 Lewis triumphed Hamilton, Followed by Leclerc (2019), Pierre gasly (2020), Daniel Ricciardo (2021) and Max Verstappen (2022). The Dutchman is – needless to say – the big favorite this weekend too. Super Max's goal will be to try to break the record of nine consecutive victories – obtained last Sunday – which would allow him to officially overtake Sebastian Vettel.
Ferrari, are you there?
When we talk about Monza it is inevitable to think about Ferrari. The Team, for the occasion, will use a livery special which will celebrate this year's success of Ferrari in the WEC world – with the 24H of Le Mans brought home –. La Rossa has a great goal: try to to redeem Zandvoort's performance, in which the SF-23 failed to be competitive for the entire weekend. Sainz however, he achieved an important fifth position, while Leclerc – absolutely called to redemption – said goodbye to the GP prematurely due to floor problems.
The ATA format is back in qualifying
With Ferrari on the hunt for redemption, there will be no shortage of news for this weekend: in fact, the qualifying that will follow the ATA (Alternative Tire Allocation) format - already seen in Hungary - will return. Barring rain, therefore, the teams will be forced to set their times in Q1 on the hard tyre, in Q2 on the medium tire and in Q3 the use of the soft tire will be mandatory. In Hungary there were some truly exciting qualifying sessions, with a Friday devoid of entertainment, given the teams' obligation to manage the tyres.
Everything on Sky and TV8
Everything is ready for Monza: the show, we can guarantee, will be guaranteed. It will be possible to follow and not miss any action on the track live on Sky Sport F1, streaming on NOW and – as regards qualifying and the race – on TV8.
