Max Verstappen won't start on Pole in Canada either. Despite having equaled the Poleman's time, the Austrian will not start from the first pitch but from the second. In fact, with a gap of zero, Pole went to George Russell, having set the time before Verstappen. The Englishman had the upper hand with used rubber in one qualification anomalous, with 3 cars in 20 thousandths of a second and will have the first chance of the season to take a victory which would send a great signal to Mercedes. Ferrari, suffering due to the low temperatures, will be further away, having failed to enter the top 10 with either driver, but hope is still alive for the race. So let's see the starting grid for the Canadian GP, which will start at 20:00 pm Italian time.
A win for four
In Canada, the difference was made by those who managed to find the right compromise between set-up and driving style, and this is demonstrated above all by the gap between teammates. In the case of Mercedes, in fact, we have on one side the Poleman, George Russell, and on the other Lewis Hamilton in P7. McLaren, which instead proved to be consistent with both drivers, managed to place two cars in the top 5. Ferrari generally struggled to get going, partly due to the adverse weather, partly due to nature of the track which exacerbated the SF-24's difficulties in qualifying. However, during the race the situation could change again. McLaren and Ferrari showed good times in the long run simulations. And nothing stops one or the other team from reaching the podium or even victory. Potentially, in the first two rows, all the drivers could aspire to victory.

The one who won't be able to dream of reaching that high is certainly Sergio Perez. As in Monaco, the Mexican will start in P16. Yet another disappointing result, which comes a couple of days after the announcement of the renewal with Red Bull. Which fuels many doubts about the move of the Milton Keynes team. Especially with such a variable single-seater.
The starting grid of the Canadian GP
The starting grid for the Canadian GP includes a couple of changes compared to the result of yesterday's qualifying. Two drivers will start from Pit Lane. Furthermore, Ocon was stripped of his penalty positions after the accident in Monaco, so he will start last. Relatively last, given the departure of the two Stakes from the Pit Lane.
