After two sessions in which all the teams seemed to be very close, it's now time to get on track for the FP3 of the Canadian GP. This is the last chance for the different stables for make some small changes before qualifying, where we will finally see who has the best pace. It is also the last opportunity for the Fantasy manager to observe the behaviour of the single-seaters before having to decide who to deploy in their own team. However, in the end the session ended with Norris in P1 before Leclerc and Russell but the The fight for pole is still wide open!
Everyone goes down to the track for the final adjustments
It's 18:30 pm but only a few drivers have already started to take to the track since the beginning of the session. Among them is Charles Leclerc who is taking part in his only complete free practice session after the accident he had during FP1. The Monegasque he immediately starts dictating the pace of the FP3 of the Canadian GP but it is still very far from yesterday's times and in fact little by little everyone is starting to improve. So the hunt for the fastest lap begins with some riders who have decided to mount the red tyre and others the yellow one. In fact among the teams there are still many doubts about which could be the best mix for the single lap. This is because Russell in the second free practice session of yesterday he set the time that took him to P1 with the averages.
The first interruption of the session comes 35 minutes from the end for a contact of Plates in the wall of the samples. The Red flag It was exposed to remove debris but still for the Australian driver only a puncture. Meanwhile too Hulkenberg is the victim of a spin in the same spot.

Norris sets the fastest time but Leclerc is very close
Back on the track everyone tries to do a fast lap but initially no one manages to break away Leclerc from P1 marked by stopping the clock in 1:12.843. Then they arrive Norris, Russell and Hamilton ad reduce times (but only the second one was fitted with red tyres). Also worth mentioning is the Hadjar's tailspin which then restarts immediately without problems, but still his Racing Bull seems to be less performing than in past weekends. From here everyone starts to touch the walls to cross the finish line in the shortest time possible and in the end it is Norris to close the FP3 session of the Canadian GP in P1 with a time of 1.11:799. Behind him by 78 thousandths is Leclerc who, due to some mistakes at the Tornantino, is unable to grab first place. Closing the top 3 is the Mercedes of Russell.

All very close in this FP3 of the Canadian GP
La McLaren, even though it is always one of the favorites, it seemed less dominant than in past races. That the updates didn't work so well? Or that it was penalised by the new technical directive? Probably not, but simply the conformation of the track and the colder temperatures are not favouring the characteristics of their single-seater so muchBetween the two drivers, the one who seems to be in a bit more difficulty is Piastres which closes the session in P8 with the teammate who is in P1 instead.
With regard to the Ferrari the latter mounted the third engine of the season like Mercedes and Aston Martin. In addition, the single-seater of the Scuderia di Maranello It seemed easier to drive and immediately gave confidence to the drivers. So much so that Leclerc, after just a few fast laps, decided to move on to race pace tests. As evidence of this, the two red drivers concluded the session in P2 (Leclerc) and P4 (Hamilton).
Also the Mercedes looked in great shape, also favoured by the low temperatures, with a George Russell who seemed very fast right away. instead Verstappen on the Red Bull is forced to struggle with oversteer, but still seems to be fighting for the top positions after a session concluded in P5. Male, on the contrary, for the teammate, tsunoda, which closes 20th and also risks a penalty for overtaking during the red flag.
