At 15.00 pm we take to the track at Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian GP. We are talking about the last race before the summer break and the focus, considering the entire weekend, is clearly on weather. With only one free practice session carried out, among other things in the wet, and with the intermediates being great protagonists during the Sprint of yesterday, the dry race – which, at least based on the forecasts and what Pirelli has said, should be there – will undoubtedly be full of unknowns.
Pirelli, Isola: “The teams approach the dry race almost in the dark”
The rain changed the teams' plans, as well as those of Pirelli. Every choice can make a difference, as confirmed by boss of the Pirelli Motorsport technical area, Mario Island"The teams will arrive at the race full of information on rain tires but practically in the dark regarding the dry ones. In the case of a race with mixed conditions, the transition time from the dry tires to the intermediate ones is estimated at between 1.54/1.55.00, that between the intermediate and the extreme wet tires at between 2.04/2.05.00 (times based on a low fuel load)”.

“It's difficult to make predictions about strategies: I foresee many surprises”
“If it doesn't rain, everyone will have to base their strategy simulations on the data collected in the past on this track and on the behavior of the trio of compounds available verified in this first part of the championship. This is what we are doing too and, at the moment, we can only confirm the predictions made the day before, which showed the difference between single and double parking to be quite subtle. And without much information, the finer this line, the greater the possibility of surprises.”
