Vasseur focuses on Baku to confirm the positive moment
After Charles Leclerc’s historic victory in Monza, Frederic Vasseur is preparing for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with great confidence, aware of Ferrari’s potential. The team arrives in Baku with high morale and the determination to continue improving its performance. “The Baku track is unique, with very fast sections combined with particularly twisty sections. Historically we have always been quite competitive on this track, and this time too we aim to bring home an important result” – says Vasseur on the eve of the weekend.
The updates introduced for the Italian Grand Prix have shown their fruits, improving the balance of the car and performance in high-speed corners, a key aspect for the upcoming events in Baku and SingaporeFerrari hopes to repeat the excellent performance of Monza, but knows that the challenge will be tough. “Morale is high after the victory in Monza,” explained Vasseur, “and we are determined to maintain the current form. We know it will be a very close fight between the top four teams, but we have to stay focused and aim to execute everything perfectly.".
Ferrari, Baku and Singapore two crucial stages for Vasseur
Vasseur acknowledged that the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku will be a major challenge for Ferrari. With the uniqueness of the street circuit, which combines fast sections with technical corners, Ferrari will have to find the optimal balance to best compete against the likes of Red Bull and Mercedes. “It is essential to stay focused on ourselves and work hard throughout the weekend. We have seen significant changes in the team hierarchies throughout the season, so our approach must be flawless from Friday to Sunday.“, said Vasseur, stressing the importance of maintaining high concentration throughout the race weekend.
With two city races in quick succession, first in Baku and then in Singapore, Ferrari will face challenging circuits where the margin for error is reduced to a minimum. Vasseur stressed that maintaining a consistent and focused approach will be key to meeting these challenges. “Our goal is clear: to continue working hard and improving race after race. With two events so close together, it will be important to manage every aspect of the weekend well, from the technical data to the race strategy”, said the team principal.
