Ferrari arrives at the Hungarian Grand Prix with optimism and confidence, seeing the Mogyorod circuit, with its scarcity of fast corners, as an excellent opportunity to take advantage of the new development of the surface, confirmed by Team Principal, Frederic Vasseur.
After various comparative tests conducted at Silverstone, the Maranello team identified some critical issues in the aerodynamic package tested in Barcelona, which led to a new development of the single-seater floor, which will be introduced this weekend in Hungary.
Vasseur: “I'm confident”
The team principal proves confident for the weekend: “We have worked hard in the company and therefore to Budapest we will bring an evolved version of the fund which we hope will give the drivers a car with which they can express themselves to the best of their abilities. This season we continue to fight on the edge of hundredths and having Charles and Carlos in full confidence can allow us to obtain better results, in the race but above all in qualifying, when it comes to pushing to the limit. I am confident that the package we will have available at the Hungaroring will allow our team to be protagonists", as reported by Formula Passion.
This week's break after the first "Triple Header" of the season allowed the Maranello team to thoroughly analyze the data collected in the last three grands prix held, where Ferrari did not follow the trend shown at the beginning of the season. According to Vasseur, the latest update package brought the expected improvements in terms of downforce, but also introduced new problems, mainly porpoising, which compromised optimal handling of the SF-24 for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
“We found that the recently introduced upgrade package brought the expected benefits in terms of load points, but also triggered side effects that worsened the driving comfort of Charles and Carlos”, added Vasseur.
Objectives for Hungary
Ferrari shows up in Hungary with the intention of being competitive throughout the weekend, both in qualifying and in the race. The evolved version of the fund should allow drivers to make the most of their abilities, reducing the porpoising problems that have plagued recent performances. With the drivers ready to give their all, the Italian team aims to achieve significant results and return to a prominent position in the fight for the championship.
