Monza and Singapore despite being two runways with different loads, they were able to enhance the strengths of the SF-23, hiding its defects. TO Monza a podium arrived, in Singapore the only victory of the season for the Red team, as well as the only one not victory Red Bull which until last week had only achieved successes. However, concerns are now starting to arise for the SF-23. Suzuka is the first real test for Ferrari after the summer break. A question mark whose answer can provide very important information with a view to 2024. Precisely for this reason the Maranello team has decided to bring the last major update of the season to the Japanese circuit. Let's see what it's about.
Ferrari: Suzuka will mark the debut of the new fund
In Singapore, Ferrari found itself in a role that it had not held since last season, that of first force. A notable step forward for the Maranello team which has never found such positive feedback since the start of the season. It is also true that these two performances arrived on two tracks congenial to the SF-23. The real challenge comes now. We are all also waiting to understand the motivations of a Red Bull in such difficulty in Singapore. It is not yet known whether it was an isolated case or a first impact given by the arrival of the new technical directive on flexible wings.
In the meantime, however, Ferrari must think about itself, and about the difficulties it may encounter on the Japanese circuit. A limited front track but which requires great management of the rear, on which load efficiency, traction and last but not least aerodynamics, Red Bull's strong point, count more. One of the biggest problems for Ferrari concerns tire degradation. On this aspect she was very careful in Singapore with both Leclerc and Sainz, managing in the end to bring home a race with the strength but also the tactics and resourcefulness of Carlos Sainz, who at the end improvised as a strategist by holding on to Norris with the DRS so as not to offer him to the Mercedes duo who were overtaking.

Even having to deal with a battle for the role of second force, the closeness of McLaren and Mercedes forces Ferrari to quickly understand the potential and limits of the SF-23. The Maranello team was able to work in the wind tunnel and at Suzuka, as reported by Julian Duchess su Formula1a.one, will be able to count on new parts, in particular on a new fund. The last major upgrade for the current season.
The SF-23 has been a work in progress throughout the season. Ferrari therefore hopes to find confirmation of the correction work carried out after the summer break. It required big changes but now the team is trying to get as much out of it as possible to continue developing the 2024 car.
