The confirmation has arrived, Ferrari has announced an important partnership with a new title sponsor, which would give a huge financial boost to the team in view of the coming seasons. An agreement that will also support the maxi salary of the 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton who will join the team in 2025 in place of Carlos Sainz.
Ferrari and Hewlett-Packard (HP), soon together
The news was launched by Sports Business to then also be confirmed by the Italian media, in particular by Formu1a.uno, and finally by Ferrari itself. Through a press release, the Scuderia announced the multi-year partnership with Hewlett Packard (HP) which will be the new title sponsor starting from the Miami GP. On this occasion, one will also debut livery dedicated.
The agreement will fill the coffers of the Maranello team and will therefore see the return of a title sponsor after Mission Winnow. An element that brings it even closer to Red Bull, a yardstick on the track but not only. A collaboration that has as its “common commitment of promote sustainable innovation to accelerate the use of technologies targeted through the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team, Scuderia Ferrari Esports Team, and the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy.”
HP, the American giant in the IT sector, recently separated the company into two distinct branches: Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). The second is currently present in Formula 1, because it boasts agreements with Mercedes and Sauber. In its history, HP was also the title sponsor of Williams in the years from 2000 to 2005. Recently the American giant also closed a notable investment in the sports sector, with Real Madrid.
The words of Benedetto Vigna
Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, also expressed his opinion on the partnership. “Our founder bequeathed us a will of continuous progress and it is precisely from this that our innovative drive is born, on the road and on the track, as well as our commitment to sustainability, from carbon neutrality to the education of the young generations. In HP we have found the same values, which make it an ideal partner. We look forward to starting our collaboration to tackle new opportunities and new challenges together."
According to sources, the annual value of this deal is comparable to that of Red Bull Racing's title sponsorship with technology company Oracle, which in addition to financial support helps the team with its technologies for race strategies but not only. The agreement between HP and Ferrari aims to emulate this model. Its financial value, according to Will Buxton, will cover 2/3 (approximately 66%) of the annual budget cap. A huge partnership.
The team will see the arrival of Lewis Hamilton in 2025, and this agreement can give a further boost to the team which dreams of being able to bring a title back to Maranello.
