"The car is too sensitive when there is diagonal wind. We are working to try to improve in this area because when the wind is frontal we don't have any kind of difficulty”. With these words, Frederic Vasseur – in an exclusive interview given to Motorsport.com Italia – took stock of the big problem of the SF-23, deemed too sensitive.
Ferrari, the update to the front wing flap arrives in Hungary
For these reasons, in Maranello they are working to allow both Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc to have them available a more balanced and drivable car. Based on what was told by Formula1a.one, in fact it seems that at Ferrari - in view of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix - they have executed a small modification to the front wing flap. The objective is to try to carry more load on the SF-23, also avoiding the porpoising phenomenon, which forces the car to lift off the ground.

With an eye also to 2024
In addition to the update for the Hungaroring, Motorsport.com let it be known that at Ferrari they are also working on searching to resolve the sensitivity situation of the car, mentioned by Vasseur himself. From this point of view, the data obtained from the wind tunnel will be fundamental. Ferrari continues to work and dreams of soon obtaining the desired results which on the one hand would allow us to close the 2023 season in a positive way, on the other they would throw a very important basis for the 2024 single-seater.
