Carlos Sainz arrives in Mexico with high morale after his second place in the United States Grand Prix. Ferrari's one-two in Austin showed that the Maranello team has finally found the right pace to compete with Red Bull and McLaren. For this reason, Sainz says he is confident that the team can replicate that performance in the next races, especially in Mexico.
An attacking end to the season
After having achieved a fundamental podium at Austin, Sainz stressed the importance of maintaining momentum into the final races of the season. “There are some good circuits coming up where Ferrari could show strong pace, as we did at the United States Grand Prix,” said the Spanish driver. Sainz has highlighted in particular Mexico and Las Vegas as tracks where Ferrari can play its chances. “Mexico and Vegas are good tracks for us. Qatar will be a bit of a difficult track for us.”
Focus on the Mexican Grand Prix
Carlos Sainz arrived at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez very motivated and ready to continue the results obtained in Austin. “We said that the Circuit of the Americas would be the test bench to understand how good the development work done on the SF-24 was and I would say that the test has been passed. If we place ourselves on the first two rows in qualifying, we will have some cards to play,” said the Spanish driver. His hope is to maintain the pace and try to fight for victory again on a circuit that he has always liked and where Ferrari has been competitive in the past.
Ambition and confidence for the future
Sainz also spoke about his expectations for the end of the season. “I think that from now on you can always look for either the podium or the win. However, there will be some tracks where it won’t be as easy as in Qatar. I hope that in Mexico we can keep up the good momentum and try to fight for the win again because it’s a circuit that I like and where we’ve always been strong in the past. I’m confident that we can continue on this path.”
Ferrari, strong from the recent victory in Austin, seems ready to give battle in this final part of the season, aiming at circuits that could favor the characteristics of the SF-24. Sainz says he is ready to seize every opportunity, with the aim of closing in the best possible way a year that has given moments of great satisfaction.
