“The group counts more than the individuals” this is the message that Frederic Vasseur wanted to send after the Monaco GP. A message that was not ignored but which actually fueled more and more rumors of a transfer of an important personality within the team. We are talking about Henry Cardile, Ferrari Technical Director, with a long past in the Ferrari, as well as responsible for the chassis and aerodynamics area from 2023. An important figure who will leave Ferrari in search of new challenges. Probably as rumored, he will go to Aston Martin. Lawrence Stroll's team seems determined to bring Cardile into his team, always leaving the door open and quite a bit of money for another big name: Adrian Newey.
Cardile leaves Ferrari
The departure of Cardile, who will leave Ferrari with immediate effect, had already been anticipated by several media. Vasseur would like to change the internal hierarchies, leaving more space for Loic Serra who arrived in May from Mercedes together with Jerome D'Ambrosio. The announcement came the day after the Silverstone GP. A weekend that highlighted even more the difficulties of the SF-24, which seemed weak especially after the updates introduced in Spain. The project born with Cardile did not take the right path with the updates and did not lead to a reversal of trend compared to last year. In addition to greetings for Cardile, the team's statement specifies the fact that the Technical Director has submitted his resignation. Furthermore, it is specified that the chassis area will temporarily be managed by Team Principal Frederic Vasseur.
“Scuderia Ferrari HP announces that Enrico Cardile is leaving the company and with it the position of Technical Director Chassis Area. The engineer, who has been with Ferrari for almost two decades, has submitted his resignation and therefore, with immediate effect, the Chassis Area is entrusted on an interim basis to the Team Principal, Frederic Vasseur. Thanks to Enrico Cardile from the entire Scuderia Ferrari HP for his many years of constant commitment.”
