Ferrari seems to have won the race against time: In accordance to premature and confirmed by Formu1a.uno the Maranello team has in fact approved the second package of updates which will debut already at Spanish GP. Well ahead of the initial program which included a second step at Silverstone.
Ferrari, great work to bring the updates already to the Spanish GP
The Spanish GP has always been a highly anticipated event because, given the presence of all types of curves, it provides more indicative references on the quality and potential of a single-seater. This year, with a rather tight battle between the top three/four teams, having an advantage in Barcelona therefore becomes very important. Precisely for this reason Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes will bring updates.
The Maranello team had not actually planned to debut the second update package in Spain. However, the debacle in Canada and the rise of McLaren and Mercedes has rallied everyone. Compared to the previous ones, which were conditioned by rain, cold and atypical circuits, the Spanish stage provides a more linear weekend, and this could be helpful for data collection. The technical team under the leadership of Enrico Cardile mobilized to debut the updates before the Silverstone GP which will take place in July. Also a strategic choice given the triptych of races (Spain, Austria, Silverstone) which limits the time available.

News at the fund, but not only
The work seems to have borne fruit and in fact, as Giuliano Duchessa reports, 99% of both riders will have the new specifications available on Friday. Changes include an update to the bottom area to improve low-speed performance, along with changes to the rear bodywork, tray and ramps to the diffuser, as well as improved small diverters. This effort aims to improve aerodynamic efficiency and load quality, aiming to consolidate Ferrari's position against McLaren and Mercedes, and at the same time remain competitive against Red Bull.
