Carlos Sainz approaches his final six races with Ferrari with an eye on both the present and the future: in an interview with Marca, the Spanish driver spoke about his expectations for the end of the season and the last chances of victory that Ferrari could have on the circuits of Mexico and Las Vegas. Sainz, now close to a transfer to Williams for 2025, wants to leave the Prancing Horse in the best possible way, and hopes to do so with at least one more victory.
Carlos Sainz's Last Chance to Win: Mexico and Las Vegas
According to Sainz, the best opportunities to bring home another victory with Ferrari will come in the races in Mexico and Las Vegas, two tracks that, in his opinion, could suit the characteristics of the SF-24 well. “I think we can be competitive in Mexico and Las Vegas,” the Spaniard said, “They are two tracks where our car could do well. It would be fantastic to be able to win one more race before leaving Ferrari”.
Sainz has tasted victory with Ferrari in the past, with memorable moments such as his maiden success at Silverstone in 2022 and strategic victories at Singapore and Melbourne this season. But the Spanish rider knows time is running out, and with just six races remaining, the pressure is on.
The future by Carlos Sainz: “Winning with Williams would be special”
Sainz also discussed his future with Williams, the team he will race with next season. “Between winning another race with Ferrari or the first with Williams, I would choose the Reds for now, because I am focused on the short term. But Winning with Williams would be something special, it would show that I made the right decision”, Sainz explained.
The move to Williams represents a completely new challenge for Sainz, who will have to adapt to a car that is certainly less competitive than Ferrari. However, the driver has shown confidence in his choice and in the potential of the Williams project, stressing that winning with the British team would perhaps be the greatest achievement of his career.

The fight for the constructors' world championship
In addition to the personal challenge of winning one last race with Ferrari, Sainz is also aware of the importance of the upcoming races for the Maranello team, which hopes to remain in the fight for the constructors' title. With three victories already under its belt this year, Ferrari has shown it is competitive on some tracks, and the upgrades brought in the last few races have shown positive signs.
“We are still in the race for the constructors’ championship,” Sainz said, “and we have to keep fighting until the end. The next races will be decisive, and we will do everything to stay competitive.”
A farewell full of emotions
For Sainz, leaving Ferrari will be an emotional moment. The Spanish driver explained how meaningful it was to race for the Italian team and how grateful he is for the opportunity to represent one of the most iconic teams in Formula 1. “I want to finish this adventure on a high note,” he concluded, “and I hope to do it with another victory.”
The final six races of this season, therefore, represent not only an opportunity for Sainz to make his mark once again with Ferrari, but also the starting point for a new adventure with Williams, where the Spaniard will look to write a new chapter in his career.
