The most awaited announcement ready to unlock the drivers market has finally arrived. Carlos Sainz, who will leave Ferrari at the end of the season, has chosen his next destination for the future. Sainz's name was at the top of the lists of several teams, especially Audi and ultimately also Williams. Precisely one of these two options turned out to be the winning one.
Carlos Sainz has chosen Williams for his future
The news had already been anticipated by various media, but the confirmation has only arrived now. Having to carefully evaluate the opportunities and having a rather wide choice, Sainz preferred to wait, without rushing the choice. Only after analyzing all the options on the table did Sainz begin negotiations. The Spaniard is currently focused on the constructors' championship in what will be his last year with Ferrari. The results obtained did nothing but make it even more coveted, with a series of chain calls.
There was also talk of Red Bull or Aston Martin. But for these teams Sainz has never been a "necessary" choice. Red Bull currently has an excellent driver duo. Aston Martin has instead bet everything on the 43-year-old from Oviedo, Fernando Alonso, who has in fact renewed it with a two-year contract. Sainz was also looking for a two-year deal, to avoid finding yourself again in the unpleasant situation of someone looking for a job.

Through their social networks Williams has made official the arrival of Sainz who will join Alexander Albon. For the Spaniard, this is the fifth team since the beginning of his adventure in Formula 1, after Toro Rosso, Renault, McLaren and Ferrari. As stated in the official press release, Carlos will complete the line-up for 2025 and will be a fundamental part of the 2026 project. Furthermore, the team would like to thank us Logan sargeant for his hard work and dedication over the past two years.
These instead are Sainz's words: “I am very happy to announce that I will be part of Scuderia Williams from 2025 onwards. It is well known that the driver market has been very complex this year and that it took some time to reach this decision. However, I have complete faith in Williams and I am sure it is the right place for me to continue my F1 journey. I am extremely proud to join such a historic and successful team, where many of my childhood heroes have led and left their mark. The goal of this new chapter is to bring Williams back to where it deserves, namely at the top of the grid. This is a challenge that I embrace with enthusiasm and positivity. I am convinced that this team has all the ingredients to make history again. For my part, from January 1st I will give my all to take Williams forward together with every single member of the team. I also want to thank James Vowles and the entire team for their trust and determination.".
