A contact in an unusual area, i.e. on the climb leading to the Casino, put an end to the race of three drivers, namely Sergio Perez and the two Haas. The Mexican, stuck in traffic at the start in a section that usually runs in full force, is caught by Kevin Magnussen's Haas in an attempt to overtake and at full speed hits the barriers, also taking the second Haas of Nico Hulkenberg off the bounce. The Monaco GP was then interrupted with a red flag to remove the numerous debris on the track. Fortunately all three drivers managed to get out of the cars. The commissioners also assessed contributory guilt, but did not investigate the incident further.
Contact at the start, race over for Perez, Hulkenberg and Magnussen
The contact between Perez and Magnussen was truly impressive, as can be seen from the images of the Mexican's car being removed from the accident site. In addition to having to quickly clean the asphalt, the commissioners had to wait for the race director's decision to decide the restart order and modalities. Considering that the accident occurred on the first lap. The weekend therefore ends in the worst way for Perez who yesterday was unable to pass the Q1 cut, but also for the two Haas, who due to the penalty they found themselves at the back of the field.

However, that of Perez, Magnussen and Hulkenberg was not the only contact in the starting phase. Sainz and Piastri also touched each other resulting in a puncture for Sainz. But the two Alpines of Ocon and Gasly were also no exception, coming into contact before the tunnel.
