Bahrain, just finished i test is preparing to host the first round of the 2023 world championship on the Sakhir circuit, after a long winter break. Only a few days ago, the 10 teams were able to observe the single-seaters on the track for the first time, born from the technical regulations that debuted last year, and which after a year of intense work have presented themselves to the world as real evolutions.
There are those who have decided to converge towards the design philosophy of Red Bull RB18, the single-seater that won two world titles. Those who have opted for something in between Ferrari and Red Bull and who continued with their philosophy, like Mercedes. Although the tests are still quite relative for establishing hierarchies on the track, what we have been able to notice is a rather compact group of single-seaters, which seems to have learned from the lessons of 2022. Especially in the middle of the pack, the tests confirmed the very high expectations for Aston Martin, and the problems for McLaren still a little behind with the project.
Curiosity stopped, as always, on the technical details linked to the aerodynamics and design of these new cars; but also on porpoising, the Achilles heel of the 2022 cars which has not yet been completely eradicated despite the efforts of the team and the federation; and on the extraordinary speed of these new single-seaters. We head towards the first race of the season with still confused ideas, but with high expectations. Just a year ago Charles Leclerc and Ferrari inaugurated a season with a win and a one-two, fueling dreams and hopes of fans of the red. History then wrote more in the following pages. But let's find out the weekend schedules in Bahrain and where to see the sessions!
