The championship is in its hottest phase, with 3 constructors competing for the title with 7 races to go. Despite this, it is already time to look to the future, in particular to the pre-season tests for 2025 to be held once again in Bahrain: F1 has in fact just made it official that Bahrain will host the three days of testing granted to the teams. Let's see the chosen dates.
Bahrain renews commitment as F1 pre-season testing venue in 2025
Formula 1 has confirmed the dates for the 2025 pre-season tests, which will once again be held in Bahrain, consolidating the continuity of this event. The Sakhir circuit will host three crucial days of testing from 26 to 28 February, offering teams an opportunity to prepare as best as possible before the start of the championship. Although Bahrain will no longer open the season in 2025, with the return of Melbourne as the first race of the championship, it still remains a key stage for testing, thanks to the ideal weather conditions and the conformation of the track which allows for the simulation of different race situations.
The announcement arrived at the end of the race weekend at Baku, in the middle of a double date that will see the Formula 1 Circus move to Singapore. This change of calendar returns Melbourne to the role of season opener, a role it has not held since 2019. After Australia, the season will continue in China and Japan, before arriving in Bahrain for the fourth round of the championship.
Formula 1 and FIA press release
Formula 1 and the FIA have confirmed that the Bahrain International Circuit will host the Aramco Pre-Season Testing on 26, 27 and 28 February 2025 ahead of the 1 FIA Formula 14 World Championship season, which begins in Melbourne from 16 to XNUMX March.
The circuit has hosted pre-season testing on six different occasions since 2009, with its consistent weather conditions, mix of high and low speed corners and two long straights allowing the ten Formula 1 teams to test their cars and gather maximum data ahead of the season.
The Bahrain International Circuit was the first venue in the Middle East to welcome Formula 1, when it hosted its first Grand Prix in 2004. Since then, in the 20 years since then, the 5,41-kilometre circuit has produced nine victories for five different teams, with Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc all taking victory on the current grid.
The 1 Formula 2025 season, the sport’s 75th anniversary year, will kick off in Australia, followed by China and Japan. As part of the ongoing drive for sustainability, with the aim of becoming Net Zero by 2030, a significant percentage of cargo will remain at the Bahrain International Circuit when F1 returns for the FORMULA 1 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX 2025 for round four on 11-13 April.
A hard-fought world championship, awaiting the next seasons
The 2024 world championship we are experiencing is particularly hard-fought and unpredictable. In Baku there was the first change in the hierarchy in the constructors' standings with McLaren overtaking Red Bull. In the drivers' championship Max Verstappen continues to maintain the gap even if the lack of victories is starting to make itself felt. Ferrari continues to show signs of recovery, with Charles Leclerc constantly fighting for the top positions. As for Mercedes, Toto Wolff's team is working hard to return to the top, despite the difficulties encountered with the new technical regulations. The forecasts for 2025 see a heated challenge, with the doubt as to whether Red Bull will return to being competitive.
