Shortly after the announcement of the renewal of Pierre Gasly Another confirmation also arrived with Alpine, this time from Aston Martin: the team, which had already confirmed Fernando Alonso for the next seasons it has also announced the renewal of Lance Stroll, thus archiving the line up for the next few years. Aston Martin is therefore the fourth team to announce the line up.
The drivers market is still relatively still waiting for a response from Carlos Sainz, uncertain about his next destination. One of the hypotheses was Aston Martin, however after renewing Fernando Alonso's contract this option became more far-fetched. In fact, if there was a certain uncertainty regarding Fernando's name, also linked to the age and ambitions of the Spanish driver, the position of his teammate, Lance Stroll, was already more certain. The 'boss' son' has always had the certainty of his seat, which is precisely why his contract never had a real expiry date.
Aston Martin armors Lance Stroll
On the eve of the eleventh round of the season in Austria, Aston Martin also wanted to close any discussion related to the line up, confirming the pairing of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. As with the Spaniard, Stroll has also been secured with a multi-year contract. The two are in their second season together. Stroll has been racing with Aston since 2019, when it was still Force India, the year before his father, Lawrence, took ownership. Stroll's permanence despite his father's presence had been questioned especially after last season. With a competitive car, Fernando Alonso achieved 8 podiums. Stroll not even one. 2024 hasn't started off in the best way for Aston Martin. At a lower level the difference between drivers became less noticeable. However, the rider market still sees many important names released, making Stroll's presence not so obvious.

Aston Martin's press release
However, the team denied the rumors about Lance's possible farewell, communicating on their channels the official of the renewal, which will also last in 2026 and beyond: "Aston Martin Aramco and Lance Stroll are delighted to confirm a contract extension which will see Lance compete in the new era of Formula One regulations and beyond. Lance has played an important role in the Aston Martin project since joining the Silverstone-based team in 2019. He has now completed more than 150 F1 starts, with three podiums to his name. The extension gives the team an unchanged lineup for the third consecutive season, bringing valuable continuity."
These are the words of Lance Stroll: “I am super happy that I have committed to staying with the team for 2025 and beyond. It's incredible to see how far we've come in the last five years; we have grown so much as a team and there is so much more to look forward to.”
Mike Krack, Team Principal of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, said: “We are delighted to confirm Lance's future with Aston Martin Aramco. He played a key role in building this team. His technical feedback, together with his commitment to the simulator, has contributed to the continued development of the car each season. The consistency and stability of Lance and Fernando's tenure in our team is a great platform to continue to realize our ambitions. We look forward to creating more incredible memories and achieving further successes together.”
