One thing seems to be certain: Andretti has no intention of giving up. Its objective is one: enter Formula 1. It certainly won't be easy, but the more time passes, the more it seems that - at least on the part of the FIA - there are always signs of openness.
Andretti dreams of F1
Based on statements released last week, it appears that Andretti received the OK of the Federation to enter Formula 1 from 2025. The problem, if desired, is not linked to the choice of the FIA - which would also be willing to welcome Hitech, thus reaching the 12 teams allowed by the Concorde agreement - but da Liberty Medium and the 10 current teams. Sundays, in fact, he has confirmed several times that the grid for another couple of years will only be made up of 20 riders, as will Toto Wolff who defined the entry of an eleventh team as an impossibility primarily for "security reasons".
Marko advises Andretti: “Buy the Alpine”
Despite everything, Andretti's idea does not change, but the methods could. Red Bull advisor Helmut lends a hand Marko who on the 11th team issue admitted: “Buy the Alpine it would be the best thing for everyone. Formula 1 would keep its 10 teams, Andretti could finally come in and Renault could still be involved.". A hypothesis that cannot be ruled out, even if the French team has recently reached an agreement with Gerry Cardinale's company, RedBird Capital Partners that has invested 200 million euros to acquire 24% of the French team.
Waiting for a decision
Andretti's will is not yet known but he will certainly do everything he can to enter with his team, but if he finds the road closed, then Marko's advice could really become concrete. Therefore, all that remains is to wait, also because Domenicali has assured that a decision will be made by September.
