The Alpine's year cannot be judged positively. The French team, after an excellent fourth place achieved last season, is currently in sixth place in the constructors' standings. McLaren's return to Silverstone - in which both Alpine teams had to withdraw during the race – allowed the papaya team the overtaking, which must do nothing but sound a very strong boost to the Enstone team.
Alpine is in difficulty, Szafnauer takes charge
With a highly disappointing result, with reliability continuing to be a very consistent theme when we talk about Alpine, the goal is to try to find redemption immediately. Precisely for this reason, based on what the team principal told Saffron, for the Spa weekend – in two weeks – a new fund is expected to arrive, which will (hopefully) allow Gasly and Ocon to have a better feeling with the car: “I think – admitted Szafnauer – that in the last two races McLaren has done very well. They are much more competitive than in the first races. And they are surprisingly so. I think it's a combination of things, you have to ask them. I think they'll tell you exactly that. We will certainly have news and improvements for the Hungarian Grand Prix too, but they won't be that big. Then, however, a Spa-Francorchamps we will bring a new fund. So, putting all these elements together which are still connected to each other. I think we should be fine."

“We have to score points”
The objective seems to be very clear: you have to score points. "Last year the situation we found ourselves in wasn't much different, apart from the fact that Aston Martin was far behind everyone else. We were closer to Mercedes and Ferrari and maintained the same relative difference with Red Bull. But Aston surpassed us and surpassed others too. If we look at the Constructors' classification we find ourselves in sixth place and it is not where we would like to be. So we need to start scoring points".

Famin new vice president
Following the various results not obtained, there was no shortage of news at Alpine at a corporate level as well. With the group RedBird Capital Partners which acquired 24% of the team, Bruno Famin, head of the Formula 1 Power Unit department of the transalpine team, has assumed the new position of vice president of Alpine Motorsports, thus managing all the company's sporting activities.
