The news it was in the air already this morning and in the end it has found more and more confirmation. There is a very important change at AlphaTauri, with Nyck De Vries saying goodbye to the team with immediate effect. In his place, starting from the Hungarian Grand Prix scheduled for next week, there will be the third driver Red Bull, Daniel Ricciardo.

AlphaTauri, Ricciardo will replace De Vries
For the Australian it is an official return to the grid after last season, when he was fired by McLaren to make room for Piastri. Ricciardo had declared in recent days his desire to return to the track, stating that he was tired of staying in the pits every race weekend. The idea of the now new AlphaTauri driver was to evaluate the different offers on the table during the summer break - also looking outside the Formula 1 perspective. AlphaTauri, however, with this decision, beat the competition by winning the return of the Australian.
Farewell to De Vries
Nyck De Vries' Formula 1 season therefore ends after just ten races. The results are undoubtedly below expectations and the ranking speaks for itself: not having scored a single point, unlike his teammate Tsunoda, he led the AlphaTauri leaders to make a choice that only time will tell how much it can benefit the team. We are still waiting for the official announcement, but the news now seems to be settled: there is change at AlphaTauri and it is done by focusing heavily on Daniel Ricciardo.
