There had been rumors far and wide of a sale by the Red Bull group of AlphaTauri, the Faenza-based team which became a junior team with the purchase in 2006. Helmut Marko himself had then denied these rumors, however confirming the name change. In fact, the team born as Minardi had initially obtained the name of Scuderia Toro Rosso (translation by Red Bull), and then changed its name in 2020. The choice fell on Scuderia Alpha Tauri, so as to promote the energy giant's fashion brand.
Starting from 2024, however, AlphaTauri will change its look again. As reported by Motorsport.com ItalyIn fact, a new title sponsor is on the horizon, again linked to the world of clothing. We are talking about Hugo Boss, current sponsor of Aston Martin and with previous ties to McLaren. It would appear that the Metzingen company is in advanced negotiations to become a partner of the team at a higher level than the current sponsorship with Aston Martin.
According to what reported by Sky Sports GermanyFurthermore, the team will be called “Hugo Boss Bulls Racing“, as Red Bull would not want to give up its presence in the name. The structure based in Faenza, therefore, will achieve economic independence from Red Bull, which would therefore allow a reduction in expenses for the energy drink group.

With the changes at the top given the departure of Franz Tost and the arrival of Laurent Mekies, the name change is part of a renewal perspective. The dismissal of Nyck de Vries was also done with a view to 2024, to improve an extremely complicated car. AlphaTauri appears to be in desperate need of a breath of fresh air, and even a new name could lead to forward momentum. In fact, let's remember that, at the moment, AlphaTauri is in last position in the constructors championship with only 3 points.
Red Bull will make a decision on the team soon after the end of the summer break. Second RacingNews365finally, it seems that too ORLEN, the team's current sponsor, is interested in exclusive title sponsor rights. We will see how the sponsor situation will evolve, but the certainty remains that 2024, in Faenza, will bring a change that everyone hopes will be positive.
