The weekend of Belgium it certainly wasn't easy for Otmar Saffron. The now former Alpine team principal, after being was dumped by his team immediately after FP1, he lived an entire weekend separated at home – with Alpine also achieving excellent results, such as Gasly's third place in the Sprint and Ocon's eighth in the race on Sunday.
Return air
Despite the farewell, for Otmar Szafnauer his adventure in F1 does not seem to end here. There have indeed been gods contacts Aston Martin during the Spa weekend, with the return hypothesis which would not be discarded by the American engineer. For Szafnauer, if this hypothesis were to materialize, we would in fact be talking about a return to Aston - which was his last team before spending two years in Alpine and obtaining, with the French team, his greatest result as team principal: fourth place in the constructors' championship.

Alonso attacks Szafnauer: “He just needs to shut up”
Last year, the driver duo was made up of the highly confirmed Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso – who announced his arrival at Aston Martin exactly one year ago. The Spanish driver himself, following Szafnauer's dismissal from the French team, wanted to say - not in a particularly nice way - his on the work done by his former team principal"After this year, Otmar Szafnauer should just shut up, instead, despite Aston Martin's results, he defines himself as proud of his decision, I find it truly surprising."
"What if I think Alpine underestimated me and my contribution to the team? At 100%. When you do your best every weekend you take it a little personally when someone doubts your performance or your age or that kind of thing, you want to prove even more strongly that you are in the best moment of your career. The results speak for themselves and this is the best way".
