In recent weeks the FIA had approved a regulation regarding the language of the various pilots. This has led to a tightening of regulations regarding what is said in team radio or conferences. The first to pay the consequences was the reigning champion Max Verstappen. Many of the phenomena who drive these single-seaters (and even some who are no longer in F1) had sided in favor of the Dutch. But this controversy is not over yet, because among these pilots has also been added the 2 times world champion Fernando Alonso.
Alonso on the subject of swearing: “Verstappen, like all of us, is a role model for young and old”
The Spaniard, currently pilot of theAston Martin, wanted to express his opinion on the swearing issue. His philosophy, however, differs from that of all his colleagues. The #14 of the English team has in fact sided on Ben Sulayem's sideThe native of Oviedo specified that all the pilots are models that both adults and children follow. This means maintaining a behavior suitable to the audience that entertains: “How many times in my head I don't feel like training and preparing for the next appointments, but I still have to do it. I don't do it just for myself, but also for all those people who look at me and believe in me. We are points of reference for many people, both for what we do and for how we behave. So our attitude must be based above all on this, both on the days when we want to do it and on the days when we don't".

Alonso then continued on what really struck Verstappen: the swear words. The Asturian specified how, in moments when you want to say certain things, you always have to be aware of the context you are in: "If you want to say something that is not correct in the context you are in, you have to stop, think about what you want to express and whether it is possible to say it.. As I said, at these levels many people take you as a role model. But in general any public figure just has to behave well. Your fans can give you love and support, but of course you also have to live up to expectations.. And that comes with a lot of responsibility.".
