During the Sprint qualifying in Miami Adrian Newey spoke for the first time from officialdom of the sensational farewell to Red Bull, clarifying its plans for the future. There are many teams that have looked for the super designer, including Ferrari, Aston Martin, Mercedes, Williams and the scenario that lies ahead is truly interesting. Newey will continue to follow Red Bull in the RB17 Hypercar project until the first quarter of 2025 but will move away from F1, using this period as gardening. From that moment on he could officially join a new team, if that were his ambitions. He himself, in the official press release that arrived on May XNUMXst, had specified that he wanted to seek new challenges. But will it really be like this?
We still don't know what impact Adrian Newey's departure will have. His legacy at Red Bull was left to expert hands and minds but having such an important figure in the team is always an added value. Precisely this added value is what teams like are looking for Ferrari, Aston Martin and Mercedes. The Maranello team, after bringing in Lewis Hamilton, would also like to close the second most important coup in recent decades by bringing in Adrian Newey as a super consultant. But not only. His arrival would perhaps also lead to the arrival of other important figures, eager to work alongside Newey.
Adrian Newey on his future: a short break and then we'll see
Interviewed during the sixth race weekend in Miami, Newey spoke about his future. Everyone is wondering whether or not he will remain in Formula 1, after a career full of successes and almost two intense decades at Red Bull which required an immense amount of work.
"Formula 1 is demanding and I have been working on it for a long time now“Newey told Sky Sports F1. “2021 was a really challenging year due to the tough battle with Mercedes during the championship and, at the same time, all the research and development dedicated to the RB18, which is the father of this generation of cars. I work because I enjoy it and I felt that now is the right time to take a step back, to take a little break and take stock of life. Then maybe at some point, I don't know when, I'll be in the shower and say, this will be the next adventure. At this moment there is no plan."

There is no shortage of offers from the teams, even the drivers say they are enthusiastic about the idea of being able to work with Newey, but at the moment a relocation does not seem to be in Adrian's plans.
