In Qatar GP, which also hosts the F1 Academy, Saturday is not just about qualifying. For the female category in fact, it was disputed, Race 1. Doriane Pin won the first race of the Qatar Grand Prix, followed by the British Pulling and Maya Weug in 3rd.
Qatar Does Not Stop English Fury
Dorian's third win of the season wasn't enough Pin to stop the rise of the rival. Have Pulling, in fact, closing the finish line in P2, wins the championship with one race to spare. She will therefore face Race 2 already with the crown on her head, making her the second driver to win the new women's category. The first, last year, was Marta Garcia.
The race didn't have too many twists and turns, it went in the best possible way for the young pilots. The only movement was given by the Departure time which saw Pin give an excellent start, defending her pole position and arriving as leader until the finish line. The one who had difficulties, however, was the Ferrari driver Maya Weug who fails to defend second place and is overtaken at the start by Abbi Pulling.
To Chloe Chambers the penalty of 5” for false start. Two laps from the end Bianca Bustamante, while fighting for P8, ends up off the track. This did not cause any damage to his car, in fact after a few laps in yellow flag, the pilot McLaren he manages to restart, but ends up in last position.
