The first edition of the championship F1 Academy, a novelty consisting of the exclusively female single-seater category (which follows the same rules as the F4 championship) has come to an end by crowning its first champion: Marta Garcia. Over the course of 21 races held in 7 weekends, the young Spaniard achieved: 5 pole positions, 5 fastest laps and 7 victories, also bringing the constructors' championship into the hands of the Prema Racing Team. In addition to awareness of having won the first edition from the F1 Academy there are exciting news for the young driver.
A fully financed FRECA seat
The F1 Academy announces big news. This morning's press release declared that the first winner of the F1 Academy championship, Marta García, will receive a fully funded seat to compete in the Formula Regional European Championship in 2024. A huge opportunity offered by the team Prema, Tatuus, Pirelli and the F1 Academy itself which will cover all the financial expenses of the season in the young category. The championship FRESH born only in 2021, it has already become a springboard among the preparatory categories for F1 (in fact this year's winner Kimi Antonelli will race in the F2 championship next year).

New for the F1 Academy and for Garcia
In addition to the possibility offered to the first champion of the category, a reduction in the contribution that each driver must pay to compete in the category is announced. We pass from the exorbitant figure of €150.000 to €100.000, (still a nice nest egg). Discount presented in the press release as: “Aambition to create entry into single-seater categories more accessible to young female drivers”. The administrative director of the category, Susie wolff, expresses himself thus: “We are proud of the work done in this first season, in preparation for next year in which we will join the F1 calendar, this united to the reduction to €100.000 of the driver's contribution, will help break down the barriers faced by young female drivers"
The future of Marta García
Opportunity for insertion into a young, dynamic, and educational context more unique than rare the one offered to the first category champion who says she is excited and enthusiastic about the idea of racing in FRESH next year.
“I know I will have to working a lot with the team but I'm determined to do well, is a fantastic initiative, which attempts to bring the most deserving female riders to a higher level ” then returning to look at the experience in F1 Academy “I will never be able to thank the F1 Academy enough”
Determination also confirmed by the Team Principal of the Prema team: “The Freca championship is a challenging terrain for young talents, a very competitive championship, but we are sure that Marta will keep up and we will help her with this".
