F1, which is preparing for the last back to back before the summer break with the Hungarian and Belgian Grands Prix, has just officialized the 6 Sprints that will appear in calendar 2025. The calendar will therefore not see a further increase in Sprint races, and will include stages that have already hosted the format and successfully won the approval of the fans.
The stages that will host the Sprints in 2026
In recent years, Formula 1 has seen a significant increase in the audience, which is why in the last 5 years the Sprint has always had a positive impact on the audience and on engagement compared to the traditional format which includes two free practice sessions on Friday . Although the idea of having a Sprint in every race, as happens for the minor categories and for MotoGP, is impossible to put into practice Formula 1 seems to have found a fair compromise by granting the Sprint weekends in 6 stages.
Over the years we have seen fixed stages for this format such as Austria and especially Brazil. In 2025, the last year before the regulatory change, we will see the return of the Sprint format in China, back on the calendar this year after a long absence due to Covid. Miami is also back after the success achieved in this edition which saw the first career victory over the weekend Lando Norris.

Compared to the Sprints planned for this season, the only change concerns the change between Austria and Belgium. Here is the updated list with dates. The double stop in America has also been confirmed, with the co-presence of Miami and Austin.
- China 21-23 March 2025
- Miami May 2-4, 2025
- Belgium 25-27 July 2025
- Austin October 17-19, 2025
- Brazil 7-9 November 2025
- Qatar 28-30 November 2025
In 2025 the Sprint format will not undergo changes although possible changes were discussed in the F1 Commission at the beginning of the year. The latest changes remain those introduced this year with the reopening of parc fermé between Sprint and qualifying and with the moving the Sprint Shootout, i.e. the qualification that determines the starting grid of the Sprint, to Friday after the only free practices of the weekend.
