nick de vries, former Formula 1 driver forAlpha Tauri, will compete in a category already known to him, for next season. In fact, in the last few hours the press release arrived in which it was announced that de Vries will make his return to Formula E.
De Vries' return to Formula E
Was the experience was short of Dutch in Formula 1, who took part in ten Grands Prix in the 2023 season, before the RedBull, parent company, decided to replace him with the Australian Daniel Ricciardo.
However, the 28-year-old doesn't seem to have put it aside the love for the motorsport world, especially the one there Formula E. Just as Antonello Venditti sang: “some loves never end, they make immense turns and then return", de Vries rejoined with that environment that he loves so much and that he defined "property", from which he had only taken a break.
A new chapter for Nyck
On Tuesday Lucas di Grassi, after just one year, Mahindra bid farewell. The Indian team, one day later, then announced its lineup for next season formed by the former Maserati MSG driver, Edoardo Mortara and Nyck de Vries.
De Vries will therefore return to the category in which he spent a three-year period together with Mercedes, before the withdrawal of the German team in 2022 from the category and during which Nyck won the world title in 2021.
“It's like coming home”
Last season was difficult for the Mahindra team, which didn't get off to a good start in the new GEN3 era, obtaining only one podium. Despite that de Vries says he is confident and enthusiastic of what is to come: “There have been signs of progress, although i progress is not measured in results. I'm excited about the future plans and the changes, I think there are solid foundations and excellent plans to recover ranking".
He then continued by admitting that he felt at home: "In a sense it's like coming home. Formula E is a very family environment for me, I see many well-known faces from the championship, it's nice".
