From the accusations, to the trial, to the possibility of leaving Red Bull. Christian Horner during the presentation of the RB20, the single-seater that will have to defend the title in 2024, talked about everything, responding to journalists interested in the truth about the trial that involves him and which has shaken the entire environment.
Horner is confident he has Red Bull's support
For days we talked about nothing else and we continue, in fact, to talk only about this. The trial involving Christian Horner, Red Bull team principal, for 'inappropriate behaviour' made the presentation of the RB20 a sort of harangue. An opportunity to finally talk to the thorniest part of this whole matter: the press. Many have reported news on the case, and on a possible rift between Red Bull and Horner who however participated in the first major event of 2024, namely the presentation of the RB20. Precisely on this occasion Horner reiterated the solidity of the team, although the process is still in full swing after an initial hearing held on Friday 9 February, with external lawyers hired by Red Bull.
“There is a process and I fully respect that. Obviously it's a distraction for the team, but I can assure you that the team is very united" Horner reports to BBC.

Horner: “I deny any accusation and continue in my role”
To the press Horner also confirms his intention to continue in the role of team principal which he has held since 2005. "I have no doubt about this. I did it for 20 years. I'm confident in the process and if I wasn't, I wouldn't be here." Christian Horner is quite sure of his innocence, and he reiterated it during the presentation, clarifying that Red Bull never questioned him despite the trial. "In times of uncertainty, the group comes together even more. And I have never seen the team more united and supportive than this. Everyone is focused on the car's performance and on the defense of the two world titles. Red Bull had a clear position, which was to let us continue with our activities as normal. Clearly there are these accusations and there is a proceeding that they are pursuing. Personally I deny any accusation and continue in my role".
Max Verstappen also expressed his opinion on the case, annoyed by attention that does not specifically concern his being a pilot, but more political issues or those linked to environmental scandals. “It is better not to ask anything about it and simply wait for the trial. Otherwise, stories will be invented about it again and speculation will continue."
How will it end?
The story, even if it is not yet archived, seems to be under control compared to how it initially seemed, although the doubt remains as to why the narrative of this story continues to change and what Red Bull has to do with all of this. Because one thing is certain, if Horner arrived so calmly at the presentation of the car, it means that he truly has the support of the team. At least a significant portion. But will it be enough?
