Finally Ferrari. There Maranello stable confirms the good things seen on Friday and concludes, in Canadian GP, in fourth place with Leclerc and fifth with Carlos Sainz. A very important result that rewards the excellent race pace had by both drivers and above all the choice to carry out the race on a stop.
Excellent Ferrari in Canada, Vasseur: “Seen huge steps forward”
Ferrari team principal Frederic Vassuer explains and analyzes what happened in the race, speaking exclusively to Sky Sport:
How do you rate this race?
“It was a good day and a good race. Since Friday we have had good form with a competitive pace both on the flying lap and in the race. Yesterday was a difficult day and I can say that starting tenth and eleventh was frustrating. Today, however, we had a good race, as did the strategy. We preferred to leave both riders out to leave them in a clean area and push; they did it very well.”
How important is it to see improvements in race pace?
“It's always important for everyone's trust. We knew we had good pace on Friday, but being free we know there are always unknowns such as fuel load. We lapped at the same times as Alonso and Hamilton in the last 20 laps: and this was very important."

Are there any major regrets about how the qualification went?
“Regret is not the right word. We must try to correct the mistakes made and we will talk about it on Tuesday. It was important yesterday to close the chapter on what happened in qualifying and focus on the race and we did so. It was an excellent lesson from an Austrian perspective."
What has changed compared to Barcelona?
“I think we are improving step by step. Montreal is quite unique. We are obviously waiting for confirmation in Austria. We shouldn't imagine what we can do but focus on the next GP. We will bring updates and try to fight as always."
Can we fight for victory?
"I do not wanna talk about it. Now I'm focused on ourselves. We know that if you want to achieve a result you have to have a perfect weekend. Furthermore, in Austria we will have two attempts with the sprint and we will see."
