Unanimously. The Formula 1 teams respond like this on /// Wolff, taking the side of Sundays and FOM, showing trust in the Mercedes team principal and the CEO of F1 Academy, following of the investigation opened by the FIA in recent days.
Formula 1 teams against the FIA: the decision on the Wolff case
Through a unanimous statement on their respective social channels, all Formula 1 teams confirmed their support for FOM. A message that almost tastes like attack against the FIA which, unbeknownst to everyone, on Tuesday evening announced, with an official note, that it had taken note of the rumors circulated by Business F1regarding the possible conflict of interest between Toto and Susie Wolff.
“Full solidarity with the F1 Academy”
A choice, the one made by the teams, clear and thorough, as can be read from their only press release. “We can confirm of have not made any complaints to the FIA concerning the alleged transmission of information of a confidential nature between a Team Principal (Toto Wolff, ed.) and a member of FOM staff (Susie Wolff, ed.). We are honored and proud to be able to support the F1 Academy. Its general manager through our commitment to sponsor a competitor with our liveries starting next season".
And what do we do now?
Thanks to this strong stance taken by the Formula 1 teams, which distance themselves from the FIA actions on the Wolff case, the situation becomes more and more complicated. It cannot be ruled out that these actions may lead to various rethinks on the role of the Federation itself and also of Ben Sulayem who, more than ever, finds himself more and more alone.
