There has been a lot of talk in the last few hours of the changes which will implement the FIA on the subject pouring,. Yesterday, in fact, the Federation took a series of measures, following the many protests from the riders and teams, in particular Mercedes.
According to insiders, in fact, the phenomenon of "jumping" is very dangerous for the safety of the pilots.
La FIA has consequently decided to take action, analyzing in particular "the vertical acceleration of the car, which will provide an acceptable limit of bearable oscillations".
But how does the FIA know what vertical loads a car is experiencing F1?
To explain this particular technicality was the team of F1_Italy:
"Inside is the box SDR (Safety data logger) equipped with internal and external accelerometers."
Therefore, through this solution, the FIA will actually be able to control the oscillation speeds of each individual single-seater and take adequate measures should the latter prove excessive.
Mercedes risks an own goal?
It would be sensational, but despite the fact that the multi-titled team was the first to point out to the FIA of the dangerousness of the porpoising phenomenon, could only derive major disadvantages from it.
In fact, it is probable that, should the aforementioned number of oscillations not be respected, the FIA it will force teams to adopt extreme solutions. It cannot be ruled out that the single-seater may lift further off the ground, causing significant losses in terms of performance.
