As we walk towards the second part of the season, we are already thinking to next year. Let's get to the 2023 season. Lots of news for next season, with new stages ready to enter.
Change
Due to the cancellation of the Russian Grand Prix, will take place this year 22 races. The season will be very long and full, considering that in July there will be racing not only on the weekend from 15 to 17. But Liberty Media is already working on the new season. According to the latest, the idea of the Federation would be to get to 25 races. There are many States that want to host a Grand Prix, and entry is not excluded new entry.
2023 calendar: 25 races ready
With the idea of reaching 25 races, the teams will have to modify the famous one Concorde Agreement. In fact, the goal of the teams and of Formula One is to change the maximum limit of 24 seasonal Grands Prix, in order to allow Liberty Media to add one more race to the calendar for next season.
Who comes in and who goes out
So which races will enter the calendar from 2023? Based on what the newspaper said The Telegraph, next year there will be the return of China, Qatar and the debut in Las Vegas. Considering these three Grands Prix, if we combined them with the classic 22 races of this season, we would already reach 25 scheduled races. However, the situation remains to be monitored. At risk for next year, in fact, they would seem to be France, Montecarlo and Spa.
South Africa enters
If these three tracks should not be confirmed, to try to get to 25 races, a possibility cannot be ruled out return of the South Africa. The intention is to return to racing on the Kyalami circuit, at least based on what Stefano Domenicali reported: “We have two options for a new race, and the one that will most likely materialize will be Kyalami - declared the Circus CEO - it is part of our agenda and there is a commitment to see if it can be included in the calendar as soon as possible”.
Situation still in total development, but we can say: Formula One-South Africa, the negotiation has begun.
