The list of stages of the championship of Formula 1 of next year is almost complete, but some circuits are not yet sure of being part of the 2023 calendar. At the top levels we are starting to get up from the negotiating table, and it won't be long before we have clear ideas on the tracks that will crown the world championship in the top flight.
The number of races on the 2023 calendar
In 2021 we had twenty-two appointments, this year we should have had twenty-three, but the canceled Russian Grand Prix will not be replaced, so we will reach a total of 22 races. Next year, although nothing is official yet, the stages will probably be twenty-four – the limit set in the Concorde Agreement. It is clear how Liberty Medium is focusing on the United States and the Middle East as regards the export of the F1 product. From next year the USA will have three grands prix: including the newest citizen of Las Vegas; and in the east, there seems to be what it takes to make a comeback China and Qatar.
The calendar is getting tight
That said, it can only be Europe that suffers from this phenomenon. In the old continent the situation is getting tighter: there are eight slots available, of which you are already occupied by Monza, Imola, Silverstone, Hungary, Spain and Holland, and a seventh practically already taken by Austria. So, it stays only one available place contested between three tracks: Belgium, Monaco, and France.
Privileged monk, but how many sacrifices!
Il Principality Grand Prix seems to be the first choice, but Liberty Media has asked theAutomobile Club of Monaco la renunciation of numerous privileges of which Monte Carlo good if he wants to keep his grand prix. Monaco will have to pay a sum of money of the same caliber as the other historic grand prix; give up the autonomous management of sponsors along the route; yield at Liberty Media la television production management; and finally it will have to be a lot more flexible regarding the date of the race.

The hope of Spa-Francorchamps
The Belgian track symbol of the top flight cannot be given up, but certainly the chances of having a grand prix in 2023 are not very high. The organizers can however hope for two situations: the postponed entry of South Africa – currently scheduled for 2023 -; and the same goes for the China, which given the strict rules on the subject of Covid-19 still keeps the country's borders under seal.
